Not as bad as Traveler System: What does this price mean? Only one power can be used at a time. At the very least that’s rules bloat. A character can test for wild powers only at specific times: Probably the “best” power was “Synaptic Static”: One of the simplest and least draining of all psionic powers. It’s not a tuff job – I just have to arrange a free evening or two OK, i realise that mapping like to like is not for everyone – but i prefer it.
Is there any particular reason that not everyone can be a wild talent? There are two rolls. I think there were even some edtiion that were triple jeopardy When attempting to use a power, the player makes a Power Check by rolling 1d20 and comparing the result to the Power Score. Not something I particularly wanted to play but they were a neat part of the game.
I don’t remember the exact wording, but it was something on the order of magic being the ability to alter the forces around you while psionics was the ability to utilize the forces within yourself. The Gorgon’s Alliance Planescape: First of all, a mini-rant here but psionic is a complete hanebook.
The Psionics Handbook (2E)
They are unaffected by mind colds, headaches, and nausia, and can save against any non-magical desiese by rolling a 7 or lower on 2d6. The Complete Psionics Handbook. If a dagger was used to kill, it might radiate fear or anger. After that, there’s the roll to determine what abilities you have, which is actually the psychic surgery part and can have dangerous repurrcussions. These hit points can not be restored by any other natural or magical means short of a limited wish. If, for example, a psionicist tries to learn about a target’s death, an old man might be seen dying peacefully in his sleep, or the psionicist might see a group of satisfied trolls sitting around a dinner table.

The Psionics Handbook (2E) – Zioth
The player can also decide to teleport to an unnamed location a certain number of feet away. One had a few minor powers that were hardly “cool” and the other got thrown into a persistent vegetative state by a botched attempt to realize the power. The Genie’s Curse Birthright: Two telepaths can communicate with each other with no possible failure. Nonetheless, I owned several books and one of my favorites was the Psionics Handbook. That made them insanely powerful. Explain the modifiers for high stats as an expansion of the lower bound chance and not a bonus to the die roll otherwise being smart makes the surgery more likely to ruin your junk.
GURPS ‘psionics’ are meant to be balanced with guns and high tech weaponry. Once you are one, the actual table of sciences and devotions is completely risk-free. The first is handboook check to psiinics if you are psionically active, a wild talent.
In either case, you randomly rolled what your power was, and it could be crap like disintegration. Outer PSI healing allows psionicists to use the power of their minds to heal others’ bodies. Other spellcasters often had just an attack roll or more often just a save – and higher level spells offered no save.
It can only be used once an hour, and a success roll must be used to see if it works effectively.

It creates a choice for the player on whether or not they want to run the risk of exploring that potential. I suppose, etymologically speaking, psionics and bionics have one other thing in common, in that the popular hxndbook of each has changed radically from their initial usages.
